Josiah and Rachel married
One sunny Nelson day Josiah and Rachel headed out by yacht from Kaiteri for a spot of fishing. Josiah secretly placed a message in a bottle, which he attached to the end of her fishing line. You can only imagine the look on Rachel’s face when she reeled that in. So romantic and of course a big “YES “was the only answer from Rachel – what a catch!
The night before the wedding day, Rachel and her two bridesmaids, Anthea and Bobby, stayed in the Consulate Apartments. Appropriately, an autumn theme was chosen for the day.
Rachels mother Yvette was really excited to wear her beautiful dress. We told her to get dressed so we could take some photos. She looked stunning – I can see where you get your looks from Rachel!
Rachel is a fashion designer and makeup artist. Our paths have crossed many times before, as she has applied makeup to a lot of the brides that we have photographed. Rachel is so talented, her personally designed wedding dress looks absolutely amazing!
There were plenty of laughs.
I love this time of the day with so much happening.
The earthy tones throughout this apartment and the cool stairway with gorgeous natural light streaming in was just perfect for beautiful glamour photography. Photography is all about light so we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. I think the girls will be very happy with these photos.
We had a nice drive out to the Kina Cliffs to the wedding ceremony venue. The view over the Tasman Bay was exceptional, you couldn’t ask for more.
Such a bright day, very challenging for photography.
Josiah and Rachel were bubbling over with excitement to finally be married.
See what I mean about the view, imagine waking up to this every morning.
We headed down to the sea for some fun location photographs. These guys really knew how to work the camera.
Daron is an expert when using lighting equipment outdoors – just love this shot.
Very hot Cadillac’s.
Daron was driving, so I hung out the window to capture these shots. We had to beep the horn several times to get Josiah and Rachel to turn around.
We drove back into Nelson, stopping briefly at Founders Park for some shots before heading to the Boulder Bank to capture the sunset. I photographed the guys, while Daron photographed the girls.
Daron said “work it girls” and they did – awesome.
I didn’t mention earlier but Rachel was extremely late for the ceremony. For those of you that were at the ceremony, you will know what I mean. We decided to have some fun with these shots – hilarious!
As I have mentioned before, April is such a fabulous time to get married as it enables us to capture these beautiful sunset photos before the reception.
Once again Daron works his magic, these are just a handful of many outstanding photographs he took at the Boulder Bank.
Josiah and Rachel, I bet you’re having a wonderful honeymoon cruising around the mediterranean – feeling extremely envious. This is just a small taste of many hundreds of beautiful wedding photos captured on your day. We can’t wait to show you the rest when you get back - see you soon.
