Stunning Marlborough Wedding…
Murray loves fishing and hunting and today he is marrying the biggest catch of his life – the lovely Natasha. Their wedding day was gorgeous with all the bells and whistles, a real fairytale.
Murray is a Blenheim boy who was living and working in Perth when he met Natasha on an online dating site. They got to know each other quite well with phone calls and messaging and upon returning to his hometown, Natasha also moved to Blenheim from Otorohanga.
Their first initial date was at the local Cornerstone Pub where Nastaha got to find out just how romantic Murray was when he bought her hand picked flowers and chocolates. They had such an amazing connection, it was like they had known each other for a lifetime.
Natasha knew she was going to marry Murray after that very first date. She loves his ‘glass half full’ attitude, how he is so kind and trustworthy with a great understanding of what is important in life. He always makes her smile… even when she is grumpy and she loves who she is with him.
Much planning went into the proposal. Murray hid the ring in his sock draw for many months, waiting for the perfect time to arrive…. Natasha’s birthday came around and he organised a romantic evening for two with fine food and wine at her favourite restaurant ‘Arbour’. Natasha instinctively picked up that Murray was behaving extremely nervous about something and after many questions Murray finally said….. Natasha McLauchlan…. Will you marry me??
The boys and the girls got ready in seperate villa’s at the lovely Vintners Retreat. Unfortunately Murray realised he had left the weddings rings at home in his socks drawer AND clean undies which he had forgotten to pack. Luckily mamma bear ‘Gillian’ saved the day and made a quick stop at their house on her way.
LOVING these cufflinks!
Meet the boys in blue… We have brother Michael, dear friend and farming neighbour Tony, Murray the groom of course and long time friend and fellow pig hunter Jeremy.
Meanwhile it was all go a few doors up where the girls were getting all glammed up with gorgeous makeup by Sarah at Aria Beauty and hair by Rochelle at Beyond the Fringe.
There was a lot of laughter coming from this villa and it wasn’t just the champagne, it was pure excitement for the day ahead.
A very proud dad….
After MANY trips to Wellinton, Natasha finally chose her dress from Astra Bridal. Unfortunately it was at the Blenheim drycleaners which burnt down last year and the dress was lost. Luckily with insurance cover, Natasha managed to find a replacement dress in the UK, so all was well that ended well.
Special moment with nana.
Isn’t she an absolute stunner!
Everything about today was pretty and feminine. We were drooling over these beautiful bouquets!
Meet the girls… Christina, Alice and sister in law Alice.
Just over the road at The Marlborough Vintners Hotel everything was in place for the ceremony to begin. The talented team at Got it Covered did an amazing job with styling, co-ordination, equipment hire, setup and pack down.
Murray’s cute wee nephews thought it was pretty cool being towed around in the trolley as well.
Talented local Nelson artist Phil Mair sung ‘Marry Me’ as Natasha walked up the isle.
Murray told us that Natasha is the most awesome person he knows, she is always loving, caring, happy and gorgeous and she’s the love of his life.
LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
If you can love each other through the sunshine and the storm,
And keep the flame of true devotion glowing bright and warm,
If you can give each other room to grow and change and learn,
Yet still hold one another close in mutual concern,
If you can both be lovers and the very best of friends,
And face together hand in hand the challenges life sends,
If you can offer patience, comfort and real understanding,
Encourage one another’s efforts, yet be understanding
If you can show true love and faith in everything you do,
Then married life will surely hold much joy for both of you.
On the day of your wedding, when you’re more in love than you’ve ever been before, it can be hard to even imagine that you might go through a rough patch a few years down the track that has the ability to break your relationship. There maybe a time when you need to remind each other why you fell in love. This is the reason Murray and Natasha put together a ‘fight box’ containing letters and a bottle of wine. The box will stay sealed until either a special anniversary or until they hit a rough patch, in which they will open the box, drink the wine and read the letters.
On this day, I marry my best friend, the one who shares my dreams, laughter, life and love. I give you my heart and my promise, that I will walk with you hand in hand, wherever our journey leads us. Together, Forever.
During this gorgeous ceremony with Blenheim wedding celebrant Jacqui Leslie, Natasha promised to support Murray in all his pig hunting endeavours and Murray promised to cook Natasha the best home made fish and chips ever.
Hello Mr and Mrs Neal!
Love laughter and happiness ever after…
Before we knew it we were off on the location shoot.
Over the hill to Monkey Bay.
THE ONLY ONE
When the one whose hand you’re holding is the one who holds your heart,
When the one whose eyes you gaze into, gives your hope and dreams their start,
When the one you think of first and last, is the one who holds you tight,
And the things you plan together, make the whole world seem just right,
When the one whom you believe in puts their faith and trust in you,
You’ve found the one and only love you’ll share your whole life through.
Natasha didn’t hesitate to clamber up on the rocks in her wedding dress so we could create a little magic, she’s one cool girl.
Coloured smoke bombs if you’re wondering!
Natasha’s 1970 Vauxhall and Murray’s 1971 XY Falcon were their wedding cars today. 18 months ago the Falcon had been a complete shell without an engine or paint and let’s say the entire district had their doubts it could be on the road before the wedding. Nevertheless, Murray had it on the road two weeks before so good on you Murray.
They’re just so well suited these two lovebirds.
The setup at the Marlborough Vintners Hotel was rather stunning, so much effort went into this day.
Loved the idea of the little honey jars which each guest also received as a gift – love certainly is sweet.
We love photographing the reception, so many funny speeches and so many laughs for us to capture.
Murray and Natasha even had their own labelled bottles of wine, kindly donated by Natasha’s boss at Staete Landt Wines.
Cake extraordinaire Melissa from Sweet Creations in Blenheim produced the most amazing cakes for Murray and Natasha. Check out the wee figurines – so cute!
As glorious music filled the air by talented local band ‘A Minor Thing’, Murray and Natasha got to show off their amazing ‘first dance’ which completely wowed everybody. I can imagine many many hours must have gone into practising.
The sun was setting and we still had some left over smoke bombs…
Murray and Natasha, your wedding day went in the blink of an eye but in every whirlwind, there were so many magical moments. Every detail, every moment was perfection and we hope you enjoy these memories for a lifetime. Best wishes for an amazing future together, keep enjoying the fishing and kayaking and things you love doing together, no matter how busy life gets.
