Rarangi Beach wedding

31st December 2016 was a very very special day. It was New Years Eve but most importantly it was the day Rob and Sam chose to marry, enjoying this double celebration with their family and friends.

Rob met Sam through her friend Emma and liking what he saw, tracked her down. Rob grew up at Rarangi, and so they spent a lot of time here together just hanging out and getting to know each other by taking the dogs for walks along the beach. Rob’s special place also became Sam’s special place and so this is where they chose to marry today, on the beach with the waves crashing behind them.

The guys were pretty chilled and relaxed when we arrived. Rob was in charge of making some final adjustments to the archway while Tim, Nic and Jayden supervised with a beer of course.

We headed into the man cave at Rob’s parents house for a bit of pool before everyone got dressed. Rob and the guys spend a lot of time hunting and fishing together and I can imagine a lot of time is also spent here playing pool and hanging out at the bar.

They’re such a fun bunch of guys and as you can see we had quite a few laughs. It was a great way to start the day and keep the nerves under control.

There’s always time for a quick arm wrestle with the old man. I think you can guess who won this one!

Next stop was to Sam’s parents house where the girls were getting ready. We knew we were at the right house by all the giggling coming from inside. Sam was looking absolutely gorgeous even without her wedding dress on; actually I think she would even look good wearing a sack.

Lovely bouquet of roses and babys breathe from Mayflower Florist.

Rob and Sam have two very cute wee boys. This is Riley and he is 3 years old.

As you can see Sam was pretty excited about her wedding dress and who can blame her, it was totally delicious.

Check out dad peeking in the background!

Precious moments with mum!

And this is their youngest son Archie, who was kindly being entertained by amazing makeup artist Annah Sophia while Sam got ready.

I’m absolutely loving the babys breathe weaved through Sam’s hair. Beautiful job by Rachel from Transform Occasion Hair.

The girls all looked stunning in blue. Emma, Sophie and Brooke have been Sam’s friends literally forever and today more special memories will be added to all the wonderful times they have spent together.

Over the past few days there have been gale force winds in Blenheim but luckily today it had calmed down a little and funnily enough the beach seemed to be the calmest place.

Emotions ran high as Sam’s father walked her up the isle, he means the world to her.

Looking just like a princess she literally took Rob’s breathe away. He loves her generosity to her friends and family, how she is such an amazing mother and how much she glows when she is happy.

Sam loves Robs honesty and how he has the kindest heart; she loves that he is such an amazing and caring father to their boys and she loves that smile that makes her heart melt.

Young Archie was sitting at the other end of the seat when we saw him start to inch his way over towards his wee cousin.  Next minute he is right beside her giving her a cuddle and kiss – too cute for words!

It was a lovely relaxed ceremony officiated by Blenheim wedding celebrant Heather Sorenson. There’s something very special about a beach ceremony.

And just like that they were Mr and Mrs Lyford – congratulations guys!

We love Rarangi Beach, it’s like a big playground just waiting for us to explore.

Beautiful bride.

Perfect wee family.

Loving the tree roots, such a great scene to put a bride and groom into.

We were pretty stoked to see the dried flowers out in colour, so many perfect places for  beautiful wedding photography at Rarangi Beach.

Just over the hill is Monkey Bay which has become another favorite location of ours.

We love it when our couples are happy to get adventurous.

Happiness is so contagious – love these girls.

Back at the reception in the Clubs of Marlborough it was looking amazing and the guests were waiting for the party to get started.

Each guest received a cute jar of popcorn saying “Thanks for popping by from the Lyfords”.

What a great day Rob and Sam; we’re so rapt you chose us to capture the memories. Rob, you’ll have no excuse to ever forget your wedding anniversary now because every New Year’s you will have an extra reason to celebrate. Wishing your wee family all the very best for the future.
